I AM Gastdocenten

Regelmatig nodigt I AM gastdocenten uit voor het geven van meditatie- en studiedagen, trainingen en retraites.
In het kader van de trainersopleiding biedt I AM ook de kans om vorming bij te wonen van nationale en internationale autoriteiten.

Hugo Alberts

Dr. Hugo Alberts (1980) is docent psychologie aan de Universiteit van Maastricht. Na afronding van de master psychologie in 2002, promoveerde hij in 2007 op het thema zelfcontrole. In 2006 werd de positieve psychologie een belangrijke focus van zijn onderzoek en onderwijs.

Sinds 2006 is hij verantwoordelijk voor de organisatie en vormgeving van diverse nationale en internationale blokken over positieve psychologie binnen de bachelor en master van de opleiding Psychologie. Daarnaast geeft hij lezingen en workshops aan verschillende universiteiten en op internationale congressen.

Naast onderwijs verricht Hugo Alberts onderzoek binnen het vakgebied van de positieve psychologie, naar onder andere mindfulness, compassie, emotie regulatie, optimisme en zelfcontrole. Hij publiceert in Nederlandstalige en internationale wetenschappelijke tijdschriften.

Hoewel onderzoek en theorie een belangrijk aspect vormen van positieve psychologie, is de daadwerkelijke beoefening en implementatie minstens even belangrijk. Men kan de principes en technieken volledig begrijpen, maar dit betekent niet dat men heeft ervaren wat zij inhouden. Dit vereist herhaalde oefening en toepassing en rijkt verder dan het verstandelijk begrijpen. Naast onderzoeker en docent is Hugo Alberts tevens trainer en coach (www.mindfulness-extended.com). Zowel onderzoek als de toepassing zijn deel van zijn dagelijkse leven.

Bruno Ariens

Bruno Ariens studeerde algemene geneeskunde aan de universiteit van Antwerpen en is sinds 1984 werkzaam als huisarts. Hij werkt sinds 1987 met autosuggestietechnieken, toegepast op het domein van de huisartsgeneeskunde en is zich alsmaar meer beginnen verdiepen in de aanpak van slaapproblemen.

Bruno is auteur van het boek ‘Uitgeslapen wakker worden’, een zelfhulpboek voor volwassenen en een handige ondersteuning voor iedere hulpverlener. In 2010 verscheen het boek ‘Slaap zacht’, voor ouders met slecht slapende kinderen. Hij is een veel gevraagd spreker over de aanpak van slaapproblemen bij volwassenen en kinderen.

Sinds drie jaar is hij een enthousiast beoefenaar van mindfulness, en volgde verscheidene opleidingen. In zijn vrije tijd is Bruno erg actief bezig in de tuin, gaat geregeld zwemmen, en is sinds een jaar lid van een prachtig koor.

Hij houdt van actieve vakanties, met mooie natuur, cultuur, verfijnd eten, lekkere wijn en het ontdekken van authentieke stadjes.

Christine Brähler

Dr. Christine Brähler is a clinical psychologist who teaches the MSC program in Germany and other European countries. She maintains a private practice in Munich and is honorary lecturer at the Institute of Health & Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow, UK. She gained her undergraduate degree (2002) and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (2007) from the University of Edinburgh, UK. She has published the first randomized controlled trial of Compassion Focused Therapy as developed by Professor Paul Gilbert and researches the application of compassion-based interventions in people with complex and severe mental health problems. She has many years of mindfulness practice including training with Rob Nairn (Mindfulness Association, UK).

Having benefited from mindfulness and compassion practice in her life she is passionate about teaching mindful self-compassion for personal development and helping people with mental health problems to overcome resistances to developing compassion.

Anka De Brucker

Anka De Brucker is psychologe en cognitief gedragstherapeute. Zij heeft reeds jaren een praktijk als privétherapeute waarin zij meerdere cliënten en problematieken behandelt vanuit een gedragstherapeutische visie. Zij volgde de opleiding tot Mindfulness trainer bij IAM en gaf al meer dan 10 trainingen daar. Zij gebruikt Mindfulness ook in haar praktijk als psychotherapeute.

Christina Feldman

Christina Feldman is a co-founder of Gaia House in Devon and a guiding teacher of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts. She has been leading insight meditation retreats since 1976 and is the author of a number of books including Woman Awake, Silence, The Way of Meditation and Compassion.

Melanie Fennel

Melanie Fennell was a pioneer of cognitive therapy in the UK, and is a founder member of the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre, where she developed and directed the Oxford Diploma in Cognitive Therapy and the Oxford Diploma/MSc in Advanced Cognitive Therapy Studies. As a clinician, her particular interests are depression and low self-esteem, and she has written widely on both for clinicians and for the general public. In July 2002, at their 30th Anniversary Conference, was voted “Most Influential Female UK Cognitive Therapist” by the membership of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. Since 2003, Dr Fennell has worked with Professor Mark Williams in the Oxford University Department of Psychiatry, developing Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for people suffering recurrent depression and suicidality. She is Co-Director of the Oxford MSt in MBCT (with Professor Williams), and has led experiential 8-week courses for patients and healthcare staff, as well as MBCT training events and residential teacher development retreats.

Chris Germer

Chris, PhD, is a clinical psychologist in private practice, specializing in mindfulness, acceptance, and compassion-based treatment. He has been integrating the principles and practices
of meditation into psychotherapy since 1978. Dr. Germer is a Clinical Instructor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School and a founding member of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy. He lectures internationally on mindfulness and self-compassion, is a co-editor of the professionally acclaimed book Mindfulness and Psychotherapy, author of The Mindful Path to Self-Compassion, and co-editor of the forthcoming Wisdom and Compassion in Psychotherapy.

Frits Koster

Frits Koster (1957) verbleef 6 jaar als monnik in kloosters in Z.O. Azië waar hij o.a. boeddhistische psychologie studeerde. Hij schreef diverse boeken en heeft jarenlange ervaring als meditatieleraar. Hij voltooide de opleiding tot trainer MBSR/MBCT bij het Instituut voor Mindfulness (IvM) en is als docent verbonden aan opleidingsinstituten tot mindfulnesstrainer in Nederland, België, Duitsland, Noorwegen en Ierland. Hij heeft vele jaren als psychiatrisch verpleegkundige gewerkt bij GGZ-instellingen in Noord-Nederland en werkt nu op deeltijdbasis als mindfulness- en compassietrainer bij het Centrum Integrale Psychiatrie van Lentis in Groningen. Hij heeft samen met zijn vrouw een eigen trainingsbureau Mildheid & Mindfulness, en begeleidt mindfulnessactiviteiten in binnen- en buitenland; Frits is auteur van diverse publicaties (Boom, Asoka en Silkworm Books).

Willem Kuyken

Willem Kuyken is Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Oxford, and Director of the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. He is a research clinical psychologist, with a BSc in Psychology from University College London, PhD from the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London, and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Salomon‘s Clinical Psychology Training Programme. He worked for two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Cognitive Therapy, University of Pennsylvania / Beck Institute with Aaron T. Beck. From 1999 to 2014 he worked at the University of Exeter, where he held a number of roles including heading up the doctoral clinical psychology training programme (2001-2004) and leading the clinical research group (2001–2010). In that period he co-founded the Mood Disorders Centre, directing it through its formative years (2004-2012) and co-founded the Masters in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapies (2008).

Professor Kuyken’s work is focussed on mood disorders and evidence-based approaches to mood disorders. His research and teaching focus primarily on mindfulness-based approaches, compassion and individualizing evidence-based therapies through collaborative case conceptualization. He was awarded the May Davidson award for clinical psychologists who “have made an outstanding contribution to the development of clinical psychology within the first 10 years of their work as a qualified clinical psychologist.” He is a “grand-fathered” Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Simone Lips

Simone is arbeids- en organisatiepsychologe en heeft een jarenlange ervaring in het begeleiden van trainingen op het gebied van communicatie, leiding geven en persoonlijke ontwikkeling. Toen zij vijftien jaar geleden in aanraking kwam met mindfulness was zij direct enthousiast. Nog steeds ervaart zij mindfulness iedere dag als een geschenk. Haar ervaring is dat aandachtig leven in goede maar zeker ook in slechte tijden, acceptatie, ontspanning, wijsheid en heel veel liefde brengt. Inmiddels is Simone opgeleid als mindfulnesstrainer en heeft een eigen praktijk van waaruit zij mindfulness- en compassietrainingen verzorg voor volwassenen, jongeren, bedrijven en organisaties. Wat kenmerkend is voor haar manier van werken is helderheid, doortastendheid, aandacht, rust, lichtheid en mildheid.

Dorle Lommatzsch

Dorle Lommatzsch (1954) geeft sinds 1998 les in boeddhistische meditatie en mindfulness. Ze is hoofddocent en supervisor aan de Academie voor Open Bewustzijn, waarin trainingen en opleidingen worden verzorgd op het gebied van mindful communiceren, mindful coaching en mindful management. Haar passie is het ontwikkelen van eigentijds vredesonderwijs met als ingrediënten mindfulness, neurowetenschap en boeddhistische psychologie. Zij is auteur van het basis- en werkboek mindfulness ‘Op zoek naar jezelf?‘ (Asoka, 2011).

Kristin Neff

Kristin, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Human Development and Culture at the University of Texas at Austin. She was one of the first scholars to define and measure self-compassion in an academic context, has written numerous research articles on the psychological benefits of selfcompassion, and is a co-developer of an empirically-supported, 8-week mindful self-compassion training program. Dr. Neff is the author of Self-Compassion: Stop Beating Yourself Up and Leave Insecurity Behind. In addition, she is featured in the award-winning book and documentary The Horse Boy, which chronicles her family’s adventure with autism.

Annick Nevejan

Annick Nevejan MA MSc, is trainer en coach en heeft jarenlange ervaring in het geven van trainingen in mindfulness, (zelf)compassie en inzicht in binnen- en buitenland. Vanaf 2009 is zij als hoofddocent, opleider en supervisor verbonden aan de Mindfulness Association (UK) en is zij eveneens docent aan de Aberdeen universiteit in de Master Mindfulness Studies (MSc). Haar mensvisie is sinds 1990 diepgaand beïnvloed door intensieve studie en beoefening van het Tibetaans Boeddhisme.

John Peacock

John Peacock lectures on the Master of Studies course in MBCT at Oxford University. He teaches at Gaia House and is a member of the Gaia House Teachers Council. John has been teaching meditation since 1980 and has authored The Tibetan Way of Life, Death and Rebirth as a Complete Introduction to Buddhist psychology for MBCT practioners.

John Teasdale

John Teasdale is a clinical psychologist who, since 1992, has been involved in the development, teaching and evaluation of mindfulness-based clinical applications, particularly mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). He also has a longstanding personal practice of insight meditation. He has co-authored a number of books including Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Depression.

Christina Surawy

Dr Christina Surawy is a clinical psychologist and an accredited CBT therapist. She is currently Co-Director of the Masters of Studies in MBCT and involved extensively in both teaching and training MBCT at the OMC and internationally.

Dr Surawy was the lead therapist on a research trial exploring the benefits of MBCT for Health Anxiety and is involved in developing, teaching and training MBCT for people with long-term health conditions with the NHS. She has worked with people suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Cystic fibrosis and Medically Unexplained Symptoms and currently works with long term physical conditions at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre.

Erik Van den Brink

Erik van den Brink (1959) werkt als psychiater/psychotherapeut bij het Centrum Integrale Psychiatrie van Lentis in Groningen. Tevens is hij als consulterend psychiater verbonden aan Het Behouden Huys, een psycho-oncologisch centrum in Haren. Hij ontwikkelde zich tot mindfulnesstrainer op basis van jarenlange ervaring met meditatie en scholing bij internationaal vooraanstaande docenten. Hij heeft speciale interesse in methoden die het zelfhelend vermogen versterken, waaronder op mindfulness gebaseerde, compassiegerichte en oplossingsgerichte therapievormen. Hij verdiepte zich in psychotherapeutische scholen met mindfulness toepassingen, waaronder Acceptance & Commitment Therapy en Compassion Focused Therapy. Hij heeft ruime ervaring mindfulness-based en compassiegericht werken met cliënten in de ggz en is een veel gevraagd docent bij mindfulness-trainingsinstituten in binnen- en buitenland.

Olaf Van Kooten

Prof. Olaf van Kooten heeft decennia lange ervaring in het Chinese Ch’an Boeddhisme, waarin compassie centraal staat. Zijn leraar is Ton Lathouwers en hij begeleid al 15 jaar zen groepen in Nederland. Sinds 2012 geven Annick en Olaf samen de Compassie Jaartraining in Amsterdam.

Marc Van Steenkiste

Marc is psychiater-psychotherapeut. Hij is werkzaam in het PCB Bethaniënhuis te Zoersel op een afdeling Angst en Depressie alsook op een Seniorenafdeling. Daarnaast werkt hij in een privé praktijk te Antwerpen.

Guus Went

Guus Went (Den Haag, 1952) beoefent Vipassana-meditatie volgens de Mahasi methode sinds 1980. Sinds 2009 geeft hij mindfulnesstrainingen en vanaf 2011 begeleidt hij Vipassana-retraites. Vanaf 2007 oefent hij jaarlijks een paar maanden bij de Engelse monnik Bodhidhamma, de Duitse monnik U Vivekananda en de Myanmarese Sayadaw U Pandita (1921 – 2016).

Mark Williams

Mark is Professor in de Klinische Psychologie en hoofdonderzoeker van Wellcome aan de Universiteit van Oxford, departement Psychiatrie.Hij is al sinds vele jaren bezig met cognitieve modellen en de behandeling van depressie en suïcidaal gedrag en werkt de laatste tijd samen met John Teasdale en Zindel Segal in het ontwikkelen van MBCT ter preventie van herval van majeur depressie. Hij is co auteur van ‘MBCT for depression’.
